Last day of school. A relief not to have to study every night for a while. We’ll do some more studying later, after we’ve had time to do some practicing and studying on our own for a while. Met another new person today, Jim, who is a friend of Loyd’s from their Spanish school. Talked for quite a while at Azzurra’s over coffee after school. He’s been here many times, last time studied for 2 ½ months and did a homestay the whole time. Retired LA cop. Quite a talker. Thinks he’s here to stay this time. Turns out he’s also staying at Apart-hotel Roma. Celebrated our graduation by going to lunch at a new place down the street from Azzurra. The art gallery part of it is called “El Garabato.” The restaurant is called “Quimera.” Neat place. Good food, except that the rice was terrible. Jim, who we had just met earlier in the day, came up to our apartment and we all talked for a couple of hours or more.
